Why Spray Seal your Driveway?

Rural Properties often have long unsealed driveways that are expensive to regularly maintain once they have lost their initial shape.

Unlike concrete and asphalt paving, a double coat Spray Seal treatment can be applied at an affordable price on private roads.

A sprayed seal will suppress dust during summer, shed water run-off during winter and ensure that you driveway remains in good serviceable condition for many years.

Special Requirements

- Spray Sealing is the most cost effective solution to build a wearing course, but it can be applied only on an even and stable base. The final result will strongly depends on the condition of the existing surface.

Generally, if an existing driveway has been “topped up” with crushed rock overtime, some minor grading (to restore shape and drainage) and compaction (to ensure a tightly bonded surface) is all that is required in preparation for a spray seal treatment.

- A sizeable portion of the price of a sprayed seal surface is the cost involved in mobilisation of the sealing crew. Mobilisation costs can be spread across adjoining / nearby properties, should surfacing works be co-ordinated, potentially resulting in cost savings.

 

Process

1. Assessing the existing pavement condition to determine the extent of preparation required,

2. Providing quotation for works,

3. Preparing the surface: Grading, compacting, brooming, watering if dusty,

4. Sealing the surface: two coats of liquid bitumen covered with aggregate are sprayed on the road in order to waterproof the ground and increase the skid resistance of your driveway,

5. Finishing up: compacting and ready to drive!
